Brackley Festival of Food - Sunday 22nd April 2012
Brackley Festival of Food came to Brackley in 2008, an idea from one of the Carnival committee members Julie Moore.
Since then each year Julie has organised this event for the town to showcase local food producers and businesses from South Northamptonshire, neighbouring Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and some further afield.
She thought of the idea after going to her fi rst Good Food Show at Birmingham.
After some internet research and finding so many towns and cities in Britain had their own Food Festivals the idea came for Brackley to have their own.
Taking into account the community of the town, the Festival includes local schools taking part and local organisations that can raise funds for their groups. The 2nd Brackley Guides have been involved every year with the cookie decorating area.
The festival is lucky to have had support from Waitrose Brackley, and if other local businesses would like to get involved please do get in touch.
There is now a sub-committee to organise the festival and it is hoped that the festival will grow and expand, next year there are some new activities and the recipe exchange will be returning. So find out those favourite family recipes you would like to share.
